In Team Fortress 2, the item’s base name is only part of its identity. A Unique, Strange or Unusual version can have a different value, and an Unusual effect can change which target you are choosing.
- Select TF2 inputs
Choose up to three items from your site inventory. Check their combined value before using them as your stake.
- Check quality and effect
Search for the hat, weapon or other target you want. Read the full name, including its quality and any Unusual effect.
- Compare target values
Two copies of the same hat with different effects can have very different values. Use the selected listing and the wheel’s chance to compare upgrades.
- Spin for that item
If you win, you receive the chosen target. If you lose, your input items are consumed. The result is available for verification.
Good to know
- An Unusual hat’s effect is part of the target you select.
- Strange quality and an Unusual effect describe different item features.
- A higher-value target does not guarantee a successful upgrade.
Questions
Does every version of a TF2 hat have the same value?
No. Compare the exact quality, effect and displayed value of the listing.
Can I choose a particular Unusual effect?
Choose the listing with that effect when it is available. A matching hat name alone does not mean the effect matches.
Are these Mann Co. crate openings?
No. An upgrade targets one listed item, with its chance shown before the spin.
Can I combine TF2 items with another game’s items?
Yes. The two inventory panels have separate game filters. Your combined input value is used for the selected target.
